The 2019 Batesville Bats All-Stars played in their first tournament last weekend, reports parent Becky Walter. The 9 and under team traveled to Brownstown to compete in the United States Specialty Sports Association Summer Frenzy 9U A Division Saturday, June 8. Despite unfavorable weather, the Bats went 2-0 on Saturday.

Teammates earned back-to-back wins by defeating the Madison Mudcats 14-0 in game one of pool play, followed by a 16-13 win over the Bedford Trailblazers in game two. Looking to continue their winning streak, performances were cut short when rain canceled Sunday’s bracket play.

The 2019 9U roster showcases Jonah Anderson, Owen Beckner, Jackson Elston, Winston Garrett, Evan Ibold, Drew Jaisle, Camden Kaiser, Gage Schomber, Jake Schornick, Liam Wagner, Max Walter and Adam Weber.

The Batesville Bats 9U are coached by Andy Jaisle, Cliff Elston, Ryan Ibold, Casey Schomber, Jared Schornick and Dan Walter.
