Moster visits podium at state

Batesville's Adam Moster executed a perfect plan in his 800 meters state finals run at Indiana University-Bloomington May 31, according to his coach Lisa Gausman. When all heats were complete, the junior ranked 8th overall and won a trip to the medals podium.

Out of 27 runners, Moster was seeded 21st and ran in the initial heat. "Our plan was going for the school record and winning the heat," described Gausman. "He sat in 5th place with 300 meters left, then made his move. At 200 meters, he headed into first and never looked back, tying the school record (shared with Hayden Merkel) at 1:55.02. Congratulations, Adam, it was a great night."

Milan's Matthew Riehle was 15th in the 400. East Central's 4x100 relay team (Erik Perkins, Chase Ludwig, Keiton Goeldner, Alex Hornbach) placed 18th and Malachi Studer took 22nd in high jump; Hornbach was 11th in the 100 prelims. South Dearborn's Nathan Pruitt was 19th in shot put.
