The Batesville High School athletic department will have Open Practice Night Thursday, Aug. 8, at BHS. "The BHS athletic teams are excited about the upcoming season. Coaches and players would like you to get a glimpse of what to expect," reports Bryan Helvie, BHS athletic director.
The Bulldog practices that evening will be open to the public. Fans are welcome to sit and watch a single practice or wander around the campus to see a variety. Practices will begin at 5 p.m. that evening and last until 6:30 p.m. depending on the weather.
There will be no special games or presentations. Attendees will simply get to see them in action as they prepare for the season ahead.
“This is something new for us,” Helvie says. “We are excited about the fall season ahead and hope families and friends will take advantage of this opportunity."
“This will also be chance for everyone to purchase all-sports passes. We will have them on sale just inside Entrance N at BHS next to the auxiliary gym,” he adds.
The first contests of the fall season kick off Saturday, Aug. 17.
These are a great way to help support the student-athletes as well as save money on attendance throughout the school year. Adult passes are $60 each, while senior citizen (age 60-74) passes are $10. Seniors citizens age 75 and up will be issued a pass free of charge. Student passes are $40. Schedules will also be available that evening.
All-Sports passes will also be on sale Monday, Aug. 12, from 5-7 p.m. at BHS Entrance N. They can also be purchased from 8:15 a.m.-2 p.m. each school day.
