Lane Oesterling, MVP of the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference, has been named to the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association South All-Star team. He becomes just the eighth player in Batesville High School history to receive the honor.
"We are very proud of Lane and look forward to his future accomplishments," BHS head coach Justin Tucker commented. "While Lane is an outstanding baseball player, he's an even better person. He will be dearly missed as he moves on to Indiana University Southeast. This was a well deserved honor."
Oesterling was a perfect 7-0 in the 2019 season, recording an excellent .609 earned run average with 61 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched. The future Grenadier added one save. The Bulldogs ended the year at 15-12 and were in a 4-way tie for the conference title.
All-Star weekend will take place June 21-23 in Madison.
