The Batesville Lady Bulldogs won the Ripley County girls golf tournament Sept. 10 at North Branch Golf Course, successfully defending their 2018 title.

BHS secured highlight efforts from both a team and individual perspective.

The Bulldogs shot a season-best 187 to triumph over Milan and Jac-Cen-Del. Meanwhile, freshman sensation Emma Weiler was the tournament MVP with a county tourney and BHS record of 32 strokes, or four under par.

Joining Weiler on the All-Ripley team were teammates Tori Harpring (49) and Chloe Murphy (51). McKenzie Deffinger of Milan was 4th with a 51 and Jac-Cen-Del’s Tracy McKittrick 5th with a 52.

Madelyn Pohlman completed Batesville’s scoring with a 55.

Batesville had an away match Thursday at Greensburg with Lawrenceburg also in attendance (results not available at press time). Those three units will join South Dearborn, Franklin County, East Central, Connersville and Rushville at the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference meet Saturday, hosted this year by East Central.
