The Bats went 2-0 in pool play Saturday. Batesville defeated the Madison Mudcats and New Palestine, to earn a second seed entering Sunday’s bracket play. The team defeated New Palestine to advance, after a walk-off picture-perfect ending, reports parent Anna Ibold.

The No. 1 seed, Tri-State Rage, couldn’t hold up against the Bats during the championship game. “Batesville athletes asserted their will over Rage with an exciting 10-4 victory!” says Ibold. The Bats successfully finished their travel season with a 10-5 record.
