The Batesville junior varsity girls soccer team beat Seymour by a 4-0 margin. The girls came out strong in the first half and scored 45 seconds into the game. Rebecca Roell had the first goal off an assist by Brooke Rohlfing. Despite having a number of good attempts at scoring, the team’s next goal did not come until the second half. Rohlfing put one in the back of the net with an assist by Whitney Lambert. Rohlfing scored again 22 minutes into the second half. This time the assist went to Roell. Mary Gutzwiller also had a goal that was assisted by Brooke Rohlfing. “The girls are learning to communicate and work together as a team,” coach Claire Macyauski commented. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-1. BHS falls 5-2 The Lady Bulldogs were defeated by South Dearborn by a score of 5-2. Gutzwiller scored early in the first half. In the second half, the girls came out and played well, but were outscored by the Lady Knights. Rohlfing charged the goal and scored after a penalty kick by Anna Meer at the 23 minute mark to knot the score at 2-2. Cassie Reverman had several great saves on goal tonight and Anna Meer turned in good play defensively, according to Macyauski.
