On behalf of the city of Batesville, Batesville Main Street, Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Batesville Beautification League and Mayor’s Youth Council, I would like to applaud the efforts of those who made this year’s annual Chamber Parade and Community Tree Lighting Celebration a wonderful success.
Dedicated citizens bring so much energy this time of year to enhance the value of Batesville’s downtown district for the entire community. It all began in early November when the Batesville Beautification League transformed our town into a magical winter wonderland. They also sponsor the ever-popular marshmallow stand. Talented local musicians adorned the stage throughout the evening. A special thanks to Mike Fritsch; Batesville Area Arts Council Boar’s Head Festival, led by Regina Siefert and Amber Cochran; Eureka Band; and Shannon Mullins with Miss Shannon’s Music Studio and Bryce Mullins for entertaining the crowd with beautiful music and theatrical performances. It was very exciting to see so many people shopping and dining and enjoying all that our downtown has to offer. To the Batesville chamber, Main Street and Mayor’s youth organizations for working so diligently on making this event a memorable memory for young and old, thank you.
A special thank you to the Batesville Street and Park Departments for their efforts in preparing for the event and to the Batesville Police Department for keeping Santa and parade goers safe. Lastly, there would be no celebration if it weren’t for the gracious giving of the downtown and Memorial Building trees from Sheets Tree Farm, Osgood, and Bohman Christmas Tree Farm, Greensburg, respectively.
I am proud of the people of our community who work tirelessly, not only during this season of giving, but all year long to make Batesville a terrific place to live, work and raise a family!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Mayor Mike Bettice
