Dear Editor,

The Batesville community is very fortunate to have a large number of class volunteers. With the various foundations, hospital, Main Street and civic organizations, there are numerous people stepping up to provide service and quality to their community.

One individual who in our opinion stands out for service to the Batesville Area Historical Society and St. Louis Catholic Church is Carolyn Dieckmann.

Besides being involved in many of the projects at the historical society, Carolyn just finished a significant project for the church. With St. Louis celebrating 150 years in October, Carolyn decided in March 2017 that researching this history of the parish and developing educational panels would benefit the present members and future parishioners for years to come.

After you take the time to review all the information and photos on the panels, you can see why we in this community are fortunate to have Carolyn as an active volunteer for the city and St. Louis Parish.
