Ripley County sheriff's officers are investigating reports of items being thrown at vehicles, according to a press release from the Ripley County Sheriff's Office.
On Dec. 23, at 5:25 p.m., a driver stated that while approaching the railroad tracks on State Road 129 near Delaware, an egg struck her windshield. It was thrown from an oncoming vehicle, but she was unable to identify it. Later, four more persons also said their vehicles had been hit with eggs.
About 9 p.m., three callers said that rocks had hit their vehicles, and one of the drivers had a rock break through her windshield and strike her in the arm.
The events took place from S.R. 129 and Highway 48 in the Delaware area and from S.R. 229 in the Ballstown area outside of Batesville to Highway 48 and Finks Road outside Napoleon.
Officers looked for the unknown vehicle and suspect(s) throughout the night, and the incidents are still under investigation. Milan Police officers also assisted.
