“Frozen II,” rated PG, will be screened Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 22, at 5 and 7:45 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 24, at 2 and 6 p.m. at the Gibson Theatre. Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven leave Arendelle to travel to an ancient, autumn-bound forest of an enchanted land to find the origin of Elsa’s powers in order to save their kingdom.

Great American Smokeout was yesterday

Each year, more than 11,000 people in Indiana die from tobacco use, a leading cause of preventable disease, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

Free help is available through the Indiana Tobacco Quitline, a cessation counseling service for Indiana residents age 13 and older. The quitline offers help via phone, web and text and includes additional support for pregnant women.

Hoosiers interested in stopping vaping can also call for help, and youth looking to quit vaping can text DitchJUUL to 887-09 to access the national text messaging program. Info: or 800-QUIT-NOW.

BMV closed for holiday

All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles branches will be closed Thursday-Friday, Nov. 28-29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Most branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours Saturday, Nov. 30. The Batesville and Brookville branches are open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the Versailles Branch Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Hoosiers choose favorite trails

State park trails swept all 10 places in the Indiana Office of Tourism Development’s 2019 Best of Indiana People’s Choice Campaign for best hiking trails.

Turkey Run State Park took the top two spots. Its Ladders Trail captured first place. Trail 2, which goes along the Lusk Earth Fill as well as along cliffs, came in second. Trail 2 at Clifty Falls State Park, which traverses Clifty Creek, was third.

Turkey Run is located in Marshall and is known for its gorges and views of Sugar Creek. Clifty Falls is located near Madison and is known for its waterfalls, cliffs and views of the neighboring city. Clifty Falls will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2020.

Rounding out Hoosiers’ top 10 trails are the Fire Tower Trail, Brown County State Park; Falls Canyon Trail, McCormick’s Creek State Park; Adventure Hiking Trails, Harrison-Crawford State Forest and O’Bannon Woods State Park; Wolf Cave Trail, McCormick’s Creek State Park; Pine Hills Nature Preserve Trail, Shades State Park; Three Dune Challenge Trail, Indiana Dunes State Park; and Donaldson Cave/Bronson Cave/Twin Caves Trail, Spring Mill State Park.
