Franklin County Health Department officials received 11 new confirmed positive cases for COVID-19 March 26, bringing the total of confirmed cases in Franklin County to 20. All 11 new cases are adults. No further information about the patients will be released due to privacy laws, reported Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Jason Lovins.
Officials said they expect an increase in positive cases as the results of tests conducted last week to a week and a half ago get reported to the health department.
"It is important to remember that these are the actual numbers coming into the Franklin County Health Department. The Indiana State Department of Health map showing the number of positive cases can lag behind in updating their information, which is why the number on the map is less than what we are reporting," Lovins said.
