Cortney Widener has joined Southeastern Indiana Dance Inc. as a ballet instructor, according to director Lydia Woodward.
Widener’s responsibilities will include teaching Fairy Ballet and Ballet 1. Woodward stated, “We are very excited about Cortney joining our team. She brings with her knowledge of ballet and a love of children that we are thrilled about.”
Widener started taking ballet classes with SEI Dance when she was 6 years old and left when she graduated high school in 2018. She took classes in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and hip hop. She currently attends Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, working toward a nursing degree and is a supervisor at Gordman’s, Batesville.
With Widener moving into this teaching position, Brittany Nicholas become the assistant director, and Kayla Wagner has been promoted to office supervisor. All of these changes took effect Jan. 1.
