Madison Correctional Facility is currently seeking permanent homes for dozens of animals following a seizure of an estimated 100+ in a rural area west of Hanover Feb. 4.
ADOPT (A Dog On Prison Turf), located on the facility’s grounds, is a no-kill shelter where offenders bathe, groom, train and teach tricks to animals in need of permanent, loving homes. Following the seizure of these animals, ADOPT officials were contacted to assist in the assessment and re-homing of several.
Currently available are Chihuahua mixes and a variety of mixed large breed dogs as well.
If interested in meeting a few of the animals in need, contact Jan Davis (JGDavis@idoc.in.gov) or Michelle Monroe (MMonroe@idoc.in.gov) to schedule an appointment.
