University of Findlay

Nathan Bedel, Oldenburg, and Lillian Simon, Osgood, were named to the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio, spring semester dean's list. To earn this achievement, a student must attain a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

University of Dayton

Allyson Ritter, Batesville, was among approximately 1,900 undergraduates who received their degrees from the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio, during the spring commencement ceremony.

Ritter and Elizabeth Weiler, Batesville, earned spots on the university's spring dean's list, which honors undergraduate students achieving a minimum 3.5 grade-point average for the semester.

Franklin College

Several area students received degrees during Franklin College's spring commencement ceremony.

Kelsey Bowling, daughter of Kenneth Bowling, Osgood, and Cheryl Bowling, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations. The Alpha Scholastic Honor Society and Chi Alpha Sigma Student Athlete Honor Society member graduated summa cum laude.

Dean Elrod, son of Mike and Lori Elrod, Sunman, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business (finance and management).

Tapanga Gauck, daughter of Bart Gauck, Milan, and Tammy Gauck, Greenfield, received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and Spanish secondary education and graduated cum laude. The Chi Alpha Sigma Student Athlete Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and Alpha Mu Gamma Modern Languages Honor Society member received the Spanish Service Award.

Karly McPherson, daughter of Ivan and Connie McPherson, Sunman, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in creative writing.

Bethany Moll, daughter of Jerome and Brenda Moll, Batesville, received Bachelor of Arts degrees in art history and art studio (digital fine arts photography). The Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society member graduated cum laude.

Brady Powers, son of Erin Smith, Oldenburg, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.

Tara Ricke, daughter of Kevin and Jennifer Ricke, Osgood, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business (management and marketing). The Alpha Lambda Delta First-Year Honor Society, Chi Beta Phi Sciences Honor Society and Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society member graduated cum laude.

Elizabeth Robertson, daughter of Earl and Dianne Rowland, Batesville, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology.

Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, students who are ranked in the top 3 percent of undergraduate students within each division for the 2018-19 second semester were named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence.
