Members of Prell-Bland American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 271 met Wednesday, June 5, at 4 p.m. at the Eagles Club. A pitch-in dinner was held first, and President Marilyn Gausman presided over the meeting that followed.

Secretary Sally Wilhelm gave the report on the April 3 meeting. Members did not have a meeting in May due to having the Hoosier Girls State delegates present for information on Girls State. This year, there will be five delegates attending. Thanks go out to the Lions Club, Kiwanis, Eagles Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary for their sponsorship. Wilhelm also gave the treasurer's report, which was filed for audit.

The membership cards have been received, and members voted to give Wilhelm a check to cover the cost of sending them out to all senior members. Sympathy cards were sent to Vicki Wilhelm, Bert Yeager and Linda Pulskamp and a get-well card to Mary Lou Hubbard. Gausman and Wilhelm were both thanked for distributing poppies at Kroger May 18.

Wilhelm presented a bill for postage and money sent to the group's Indiana Veterans' Home resident for the year. Members present voted to reimburse her. Thank yous were received for the Boy Scouts and Indiana Veterans' Home. The unit received $50 from the district as it was the lucky winner to be pulled out from a total of seven entries for the 100 percent membership award. Members present also voted to donate $30 to the Eagles for allowing them to meet there.

Then the meeting was adjourned. The group will meet again Aug. 7 at 2:30 p.m.
