The Chateau of Batesville is celebrating National Assisted Living Week and 12 years of successful operation in the Batesville community with a “Thank you, Batesville” free ice cream social Sunday, Sept. 7, from 2-4 p.m., reports executive director Susan Roberts.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “The Magic of Music,” and events throughout the week will be filled with local musical talent. Alan Crum will be performing during the social. At 3 p.m., the staff (and anyone else who wants to participate) will be honoring one of the residents with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Other events during the week include lunch with the mayor, a luncheon for emergency responders and children’s sing-off. To wrap-up the festivities, a butterfly release will be held Saturday, Sept. 13.

A complete schedule can be picked up at 44 Chateau Boulevard.
