Isaiah Frey’s future plans include attending the University of Evansville, Purdue University or, possibly, another college. He hopes to major in engineering, education or both.
“I’ve always enjoyed math and engineering since a young age, and since I’ve begun tutoring for the National Honor Society, I’ve considered teaching. The colleges I chose have a variety of engineering/teaching careers, so I’d be able to narrow down my choices after I’ve determined what I enjoy and excel in.”
All about me: I’m a quieter kid, though I’m told I can have a powerful personality when I am comfortable with myself. I am generally considerate and respectful, though I am willing to question those in charge.
My family: Parents James and Betty Frey, Batesville, and siblings Brandon, Jason, Zachary, Jeff, Quintin, Austin and Gabriel.
My job: I’m a busser at Cricket Ridge. This experience taught me how to balance work, school and sports. More importantly, it showed me there are rewards for a good work ethic in every area of life. On the other hand, I am now the official busser at my dinner table at home.
Favorite school activities: I love to run cross country and enjoy participating on the Academic Team. Both are great opportunities to be around friends you don’t get to spend class time with, while exercising your mind and your body. It’s a fulfilling experience.
Other extracurriculars: I’m involved in Adopt-a-Sis and 4-H. I am captain of the cross country and track teams as well as president of NHS. It’s my job then to encourage teammates/members to participate, work hard and do their best to contribute in each individual activity.I also volunteer as an altar server and at the St. Louis Church festival.
