OA spring concert May 4

---- — “Come Gentle Spring” will be presented by Oldenburg Academy music students Sunday, May 4, at 4 p.m., according to Kris Wampler, fine arts department chair.

The Concert Choir will sing “Maria” from “The Sound of Music,” “Ubi Caritas,” “Ave Maria” and “Thousand Years.”

The Academy Singers will perform “Sanctus” by Schuber, “If Music be the Food of Love,” “May it Be” and “This Train.”

A Broadway medley will be presented by the musical theatre class, and the steel drum ensemble will play “Under the Sea.”

Orchestra selections are “A Medieval Legend,” “Viva La Vida,” “Intermezzo” from Carmen, “Colonel Bogey,” “Overture to Die Fledermaus,” “The Moldau,” “Happy” by Happy by Pharrell Williams and “Sempre Fidelis” by Sous.

Olivia Shi will play the pipa, a Chinese stringed instrument similar to the guitar or harp. Gabrielle Muncgal, Christopher Jarman, Emma Schulte and Brian Ulrich will perform “Bumble Boogie” on pianos. Kirsten Stenger will sing “Someone Like You” by Adele.
