---- — East Central High School’s National Honor Society members recently elected new officers for the 2013-14 school year. They include President Reese Tanner, Vice President Nathan Knueven, Secretary Jordon Brown and Treasurer Malory Owen, reports adviser Ellen Schneider.

NHS sponsors several important activities for students and the community. “Each year, our officers and members organize and host Hoxworth Blood Center for our annual blood drive. This year’s drive is scheduled for Nov. 21. Last year, area high schools donated more than 8,600 units of blood. We do make a difference!” the adviser reveals.

Members also volunteer through Academic Student Services to tutor students in all grades, providing tutoring services during and after school in all subject areas.

“Our 2013-14 National Honor Society members continue to serve as ambassadors of our student body and school. It is with great pleasure we share the accomplishments of this exceptional group of students,” Schneider notes.
