Thirty Franklin County residents achieve 10-year 4-H member status

BATESVILLE —

Ann Kuntz, daughter of Bill and Geraldine Kuntz, is a 2012 graduate of Oldenburg Academy and a member of the Superkids 4-H Club.  Her favorite projects include beef, swine, and foods.  Ann has had many achievements throughout her 4-H career including Reserve Grand Champion Steer, Champion Light Weight Barrow, Champion Shorthorn Heifer, Junior Showmanship in beef, Intermediate Showmanship in swine and beef, Senior Showmanship in swine and beef, Reserve Champion foods, Grand Champion fashion revue sewing for fun, and Reserve Grand Champion forestry.  She recalls her favorite 4-H memory as “participating in the Showman of Showmen competition.”  Aside from 4-H, Ann enjoys running cross country and track.  She also enjoys playing basketball and is a part of campus ministry and National Honor Society.  In school she has received several honors including Academic All state Cross Country, Basketball, and Track.  Ann was also a state qualifier in track for 2 years.   When asked who inspires her, she answered, “My mom because she is my role model and she has taught me many of the things that I know today.”  Ann plans to attend Marian University to study nursing while running cross country and track.

Lainey Losekamp, daughter of David and Brenda Losekamp, is a 2012 graduate of Franklin County High School and a member of the East Franklin Flyers 4-H Club.  Her favorite projects include beef, swine, goats, and sheep.  Winning Grand Champion foods, Grand Champion consumer clothing, Grand Champion Wether, Grand Champion Full Blood Boer Doe, Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb, and Champion Light Weight Barrow are some of her achievements in 4-H.  Lainey recalls her favorite 4-H memory as “after every show my family and friends would gather in our ‘living room.’  We would just talk and play card games in our home away from home!”  Aside from 4-H, she likes to sit down and read a good book and spend time with her great family and awesome friends.  Lainey has also received many honors including being in National Honor Society, student council, class secretary, volleyball captain, and Vice President of her 4-H club.  Lainey’s parents inspire her most because “they have taught me how to be a hard worker on and off the farm.”  In the future, Lainey plans to attend UCBA and earn a degree in dental hygiene.
