---- — The Batesville High School FFA chapter held its sixth meeting of the year Monday, March 31, in adviser Cassie Mumaw’s ag room. She and 30 members were present, according to reporter Michaela Hoff.
President Jacob Schwab called the chapter to order. Members who participated in the District XII Leadership Contest were congratulated. They included Jacob Schwab, Chad Emsweller, Megan Doll, Hayley Huntington, Molly Lecher, Michaela Hoff, Thomas Hatcher, Destini Taylor-Fathman, Levi Nordmeyer, Robert Strobel, Trevor Gartenman and Kyle Emsweller.
The FFA plant sale is almost here. It takes place Friday, May 2, from 3-6 p.m. and Friday, May 9, from 3-5 p.m. at the greenhouse behind BHS in the fenced area. There will be several varieties of plants, flowers and vegetables, including zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, herbs and hanging Boston ferns.
On April 30, members will hold their annual year-end banquet. According to Hoff, “It is also a time to recognize all the hard work and achievements throughout this year of FFA.” FFA state Vice President Evan McNeely will be the guest speaker. Awards, including the honorary member and most appreciated, will be presented.
The next meeting is slated for Monday, April 28.
