West Virginia University

Parker Blessing, Batesville, was named to the West Virginia University Dean’s List with a 3.8 grade-point average, higher than the 3.5 required. He will graduate this spring with a major in finance and minor in economics.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee held its commencement ceremony Dec. 15.

Benjamin De Mers, Batesville, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Letters and Science.

Northern Kentucky University

Northern Kentucky University welcomed the Class of 2018 to campus. Two local students were Liam Bowser, Batesville, and Logan Linkmeyer, Cross Plains.

Hanover College

Two area students were named to the Hanover College dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

Hunter Blake, a Franklin County High School graduate and senior computer science major, is the son of Randel and Carol Blake. Megan Meyer, a Batesville High School graduate and sophomore undeclared major, is the daughter of Michael and Brenda Meyer, Oldenburg.

To qualify for this list, students must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

University of Cincinnati

The University of Cincinnati dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester has been released.

Area students making the list include Francis Glaser, Kelly Hamm, Peter Lamping, Allen McPherson, Emily Morrison and Megan Roell, Batesville; Jason Werner, Oldenburg; Jacob Brunemann, Brittany Covert, Deirdre Elfers, Adam Frondorf and Elizabeth Rice, Sunman; and Courtney Crabtree, Paul Keppler, Karen Schmitt and Kayla Stevens, Milan.

Butler University

Several area students have been named to the Butler University dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

They include Alex Dudley (who is studying elementary education), Mike Hoeing (exploratory in the College of Business), Gretchen Junker (pre-pharmacy) and Grant Meyers (marketing), Batesville; Alex Johnson (pre-health sciences), Oldenburg; Kelly Borter (marketing), Holton; Arielle Noel (middle/secondary education), Milan; and Danielle Stone (pharmacy), Metamora.

Several area students were named to the Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.
