"Go, Go, Go, Joseph" concludes Act I in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's popular musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

The drama club and music department at Batesville High School will produce the show this Friday and Saturday, April 11-12, at 7 p.m. in the BHS auditorium.

The production is produced in cooperation with Rodgers & Hammerstein.

“Clear your evening now for a night of singing and dancing!” urges Batesville Middle School language arts teacher Lisa Barnett, who completes her 20th season as director of the BHS Drama Club with this production.

"This show is a crowd pleaser! Our talent is as phenomenal as always."

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is 40 years old this year. The story is about a father who favors Joseph, one of his 12 sons. Joseph has dreams that predict the future. The brothers are jealous of him and leery of his dreams. This musical is about their evil plan to do away with him.

“Audience members of all ages will enjoy this comedy/tragedy,” the director believes. There are songs from all genres, including Western and calypso pieces. In a 1960s number, the Pharaoh, known as the "King” (senior John Brunner), will make an appearance. “You won't want to miss his blue suede shoes,” Barnett says.

Over 50 BHS students have been working on this production for two months. Sophomore Blake Coleman will portray Joseph. Senior Brett Enneking and junior Abby Morrison will narrate the show.

Joining them on stage frequently will be Joseph's 11 jealous brothers: John Brunner, Jake Nettnay, Nick Heil, Jason LaJeunesse, Brian Faulkner, Cary Yorn, Jarrod Lowery, Alex Betts, Aaron Bodey, Cody Cavinee and James Call.

Eleven females will join the brothers, portraying their wives: Ashton Milne, Lindsay Edwards, Toni Perdue, Tiffany Gibbs, Christine McKnight, Rachel Kennedy, Hannah McKinney, Tori Roper, Brittany Brewer, Libby Zins and Meredith Heckman.

During the second act, these young ladies will appear in Egypt as part of the Pharaoh's court. Other students on stage are Kira Riley, Sarah Bodey, Jenny Adams, Haley Hall, Lindsey Wilson, Brittany Vogelsang, Lindsay Wenning and David Koon.

An industrious group of students spent hours over spring break designing, building and painting the set: Bridget Thie, Justin Baechle, Emma Dickey, Montana Thie, Libby Zins and Andrew Cambron. Parent Mary K. Cambron donated her time to work with these students.

Bill Fegley, Chris Adams, Michael Howell, David Ralston, Ted Cooley, Alex Williams, Will Pomeroy and Mark Volz will be running the lights and sound boards.

Adam Kruse, BHS and BMS band director, will direct the pit orchestra: Anna Doll, Jane Doll, Ali Caldwell, April Kuhlman, Joe Romweber, B.J. Narwold, Shannon Morris, Nichole Sauerwein, Brittany Eckstein, Bryce Mullins, Alex Dunbar and Andrew Cambron.

Barnett is assisted by BMS music teacher Leon Enneking, who will also portray Jacob, the father. BMS and BHS choral music teacher Daniel Gallion is the vocal director. BHS science teacher Charlie Zimmerman will also make a surprise appearance.
