Thanks to the generosity of area citizens, the Franklin County Community Foundation offers more than 35 scholarships to county students. Students from Batesville, East Central, Franklin County, Harrison and Union County high schools and Oldenburg Academy may download the scholarship application from the foundation’s Web site at www.franklincountyindiana.com.
This year, in cooperation with Franklin County Dollars for Scholars, students applying for a FCCF or Dollars for Scholars scholarship may complete one application, reports executive director Shelly Lunsford. The postmarked deadline is March 13. The foundation will deliver copies of the applications to the Dollars for Scholars committee.
Any student residing in Franklin County may apply for:
Bernard Hurst American Legion Post 77 Auxiliary Scholarship – student may not be valedictorian or salutatorian, but must have a father, mother, brother, sister or grandparent in good standing with the post.
Daughters of Isabella St. Catherine Circle 103 Scholarship – GPA may not be less than 2.0 on 4.0 scale. Student must be sponsored by a member in good standing.
Sister Dominica Doyle Scholarship – St. Michael School graduate.
Leo "Lee" Lamping Memorial Scholarship – student must attend Mount St. Joseph College. Preference given to students graduating from FCHS.
James P. Mullin and Mary M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship – student must attend Earlham College full time.
Scholarships for applicants who may reside anywhere:
FCN Bank/Norbert A. Riedman Memorial Scholarship – student must have parent employed at FCN Bank.
Dominic and Glenda Iacobucci Scholarship – applicant must be agraduate of East Central, FCHS or Harrison High School and student must be or be the child of parents who are actively involved in a local Christian church body. Preference given to applicants attending Rockdale United Methodist Church.
Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Scholarship – primary consideration will be given to students who are church members. Secondary consideration will be given to students who attended Mount Carmel School.
Mary Willhelm Schwegman Memorial Scholarship – primary consideration given to students graduating from FCHS or Batesville High School who plan to study nursing or education
Students graduating from Franklin County High School may apply for the:
Joe Bachus Memorial Soccer Scholarship - students who have participated at least two years in the soccer program, one year as a senior.
