Workshop Deadline

CPR Class
On Saturday, April 26, Margaret Mary Community Hospital workers will teach community members cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during a free class. Road Rally

Microenterprise Assistance Program Meeting
The City of Batesville was awarded an $80,000 Microenterprise Assistance Program Grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. A $5,000 to $20,000 loan can be made to a new or existing business that has five or fewer low to moderate income employees, at least one of whom must be an owner. A meeting to discuss the new program is Tuesday, April 29, at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Building’s council chambers.

Large Item Pickup
On Saturday, May 10, the City of Batesville offers curbside pickup of large items from residents’ homes starting at 5 a.m. Acceptable items include old clothing; furniture, bedsprings and mattresses; old rugs and carpet pieces; rubber hose; appliances; wood, bundled 4 feet or shorter, 75 pounds maximum; insulation; cans and buckets, totally cleaned and dry; paint cans (must be dried paint). Refrigerators, air-conditioning units and freezers also will be taken if they have stickers showing that the chlorofluorocarbons were removed. Info: 933-6100.
