The first Coaches vs. Cancer event is presented Friday, April 18, at 6:15 p.m. at Batesville Middle School gym by Southeastern Indiana YMCA and the American Cancer Society. Games between Batesville, Oldenburg, East Central and Lawrenceburg coaches, speaker Jane Hoeppner (widow of coach Terry Hoeppner, former Indiana University football coach), silent auction of items from athletes, free-throw and other basketball contests. Tickets at $4 (children under 3 free) can be purchased at the door or YMCA. All proceeds will be split between the Coaches vs. Cancer Foundation and YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
