OA beats Eagles in semis
The Twisters earned a berth in the championship game with a 61-56 victory over Jac-Cen-Del in the semifinal round.
A good start was key for the Twisters and they got it. Oldenburg led 11-3 at the end of the first quarter.
The two teams played relatively even in the second quarter, which resulted in a 19-14 halftime lead for the Twisters.
Oldenburg came out in the third quarter and hit some big shots. A 21 points offensive effort allowed the Twisters to build on their lead. Coach Moorman's squad entered the final eight minutes of play with a 40-29 advantage.
Jac-Cen-Del's Evan Borgman did his part as the Eagles put up 27 points in the fourth quarter. Fortunately for the Twisters, shots were falling for them as well.
The Eagles were able to cut six points off the margin, but it was not enough as the Twisters held on for the five point victory. Moorman hit 8-of-9 free throws in four quarter to help preserve the victory.
Oldenburg finished with four players scoring in double figures. Cory Schuman had a good night with six 3-pointers for 18 points followed by Moorman with 17. Sarringhaus and Matty Hurm scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
