Lady Twisters win at Greensburg Invitational

The victories keep rolling in for Sarah Billingsley and the Oldenburg Academy girls cross country team.

The Lady Twisters claimed the top spot a the Greensburg Invitational.

Oldenburg finished with a team score of 32 points followed by Connersville with 77. The Batesville Lady Bulldogs were third with 117.

Sarah Billingsley distanced herself from the field and crossed the finish line in a winning time of 18:36.

Teammate Meredith Maier was second with a mark of 19:43 followed by Kirsten Ricke a couple places back at 19:52.

Rachel Billingsley gave the Lady Twisters a fourth top10 finish at seventh with a time of 20:20.

Junior Claire Dickey rounded out the scoring for OA in 18th with a mark of 22:44.

Other runners competing for Oldenburg were Courtney Unkrich (62nd) and Bobbie Wagner (73rd).

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Hannah Lehfeldt in 11th with  time of 21:33 and Maria Wessel in 15th at 22:31.

Also scoring for Batesville were Jordan Lowery (20th), Breanna Hartman (31st) and Elizabeth Cuttle (44th).

Hannah Rogers (47th) and Lauren Eckstein (49th)  were fifth and sixth for the Lady Bulldogs.

The Batesville High School boys team placed fifth in the 11-team field at the invitational.

The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 106 points. East Central won the meet with 65 followed by New Castle with 80.

Garrett Yorn stepped up to lead the Bulldogs with a  seventh place finish and a time of 17:42.

Cole Nuhring was the second BHS runner to complete the 5K course. He did so in 16th place and a time of 18:24.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was Connor Bell (24th overall), Trent Barnett (26th) and Calvin Lehman (39th).

Other runners competing for Batesville were Connor Lunsford (54th) and Ian Schmid (62nd).

The Twisters were led by Isaiah Frey in 38th place with a time of 19:21.

Other runners for Oldenburg included Luke Wukusick (47th), Chris Nurrenburg (67th) and Brian Ulrich (77th).
