---- — The Batesville High School girls golf team kicked off the season at the Richmond Invitational on Monday.
The Lady Bulldogs placed fifth in an 8-team field at Highland Lake Golf Course.
Pendleton Heights took the team title with a 338 followed by Connersville (348) and Union County (360). Batesville was six strokes behind Rushville with a 380. Richmond, Franklin County and Muncie Central rounded out the field.
Batesville was led by Madison McCreary with a second place overall finish. McCreary carded an 18-hole score of 77 on the par 72 course.
Meg Liter was second for the Lady Bulldogs with a 97. Samantha Heidlage added a 102, including an eagle on the par 5, 17th hole. Madison Harsh (105) and Isabella Stange (120) rounded out the scores for Batesville.
