Bulldogs solid in 11-1 win over Jets

BATESVILLE — The Hauser Jets could not keep pace with the Batesville Bulldogs in varsity baseball action Tuesday evening.

The host Jets gave up nine runs over the first two innings as the Bulldogs rolled to a 10-run victory in five.

Austin Westerfeld led the 10-hit attack for the Bulldogs with a double and two singles. Westerfeld finished with three RBI. Will Ollier and Connor Schuck added two hits apiece. Nick Kirschner, Wes McKinney and Schuck each scored twice.

Schuck got the start on the mound and pitched the first three innings. He gave up only one hit and struck out four. McKinney threw the final two innings in relief. Between the two pitchers, the Jets managed only one hit.

The Bulldogs are now 8-10 on the season.
