BHS baseball team loses to No. 3 Shiners

BATESVILLE — The Batesville High School varsity baseball team dropped a 2-1 decision to Class A, No. 3 ranked Rising Sun on Monday.

The Bulldogs took an early lead with a run by Wes McKinney in the top of the third inning. Rising Sun answered with the tieing run in the fifth and game-winner in the seventh.

Noah Gausman had the only two hits of the game for the Bulldogs, while Bryan Hoeing drove in McKinney in the third.

Cody Weaver pitched a complete game for the Shiners. He gave up just two hits and struck out 11.

Senior Will Ollier was good as well on the mound for the Bulldogs. Ollier went six innings, allowing only four hits and walking just one.
