Lady Bulldogs go to 8-2 on season

BATESVILLE — The Batesville Lady Bulldogs picked up two more wins on the tennis court and improved to 8-2 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Greensburg 4-1 and followed up one day later with a 4-1 victory over Milan.

Lydia Olsen went three long sets at No. 2 singles to conclude the match at Greensburg. Olsen defeated Kaeli Fong 1-6, 6-3 and 6-4.

Sarah Hoseus notched the first point in singles play for the Lady Bulldogs. Hoseus blanked Claire Welage 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.

Emily Helvie and Kelli Hartman needed three sets to beat Caroline Pratt and Courtney Nelson at No. 1 doubles. Helvie and Hartman lost the first set 6-3, but bounced back to win the next two 6-3 and 6-4.

Brooke Bradford and Emily Shaw teamed up for a quick victory at No. 2 doubles. Shaw and Bradford defeated Abigail Bailey and Olivia Slusher by the scores of 6-0, 6-1.

The Batesville junior varsity posted a 4-1 win over the Lady Pirates.

Karsen Worthington, Macy Simon and Gabby Cooper each posted singles wins, while Jenna Harmeyer and Grace Heppner triumphed at No. 2 doubles.

Heppner rebounded from a three-set loss at Greensburg to lead the Lady Bulldogs past Milan. Heppner defeated Rachel Smith 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.

Olsen needed three sets to win at No. 2, while Hoseus was a straight set winner at No. 3.

Bradford and Hartman notched a victory at No. 2 doubles, while Helvie and Ali Meyer were upset in three sets at No. 1.
