The Batesville Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing skid with a 14-13 victory over the host Franklin County Wildcats.
Playing conditions were less than ideal as rain fell the entire game.
Trailing 13-7, the Bulldogs scored on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Connor Schuck to Mike Hoeing. Hoeing kicked the go-ahead extra point to give the Bulldogs a 14-13 lead with 11:23 to play in the fourth quarter.
The first Batesville score came when a pass intended for Hoeing was tipped and fell into the hands of Bo Gowan. Gowan grabbed the loose ball and made his way to the end zone.
The Wildcats took over with just over six minutes remaining in the game and worked the ball deep into Batesville territory. The Bulldog defense stepped up and forced the Wildcats to turn the ball over on downs late in the game. Keys stops by Aaron Stirn and Cody Reer sparked the defense late in the game.
The Bulldogs improved to 4-4 on the season.
