Lady Twisters second at Greensburg

BATESVILLE — The Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters placed second at the Greensburg High School Crossbones Track and Field Invitational.

The Lady Twisters finished with a team score of 92 points, which was second to Greenfield-Central (159) and ahead of six other teams.

Oldenburg was led Kirsten Ricke and Sarah Billingsley.

Ricke finished ahead of the field in the 300-meter hurdles and long jump. Her two first place honors netted the Lady Twisters 20 team points.

Sarah Billingsley nearly broke the record in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:25.5. The current record was set in 2006 by Masterson of Beech Grove (11:25.0). Billingsley was also a winner in the 1,600-meter run.

Meredith Maier added 10 points to the team score with a first place finish in the 800-meter run. She was second in the 400-meter dash behind new meet record-holder Girolami of Greenfield-Central.

The 4 x 800-meter relay team was impressive in its victory. The Lady Twisters finished in a time of 10:24, which was well ahead of Rushville (11:10.7).

The 4 x 400-meter relay team placed second behind Greenfield-Central.
