Leading into Saturday’s game at home against the Shelbyville Golden Bears every win this season has been followed by a loss.
Unfortunately for the Lady Bulldogs, the pattern continued on Saturday.
The Golden Bears rallied from a four point deficit at the end of the third quarter to knock off the Lady Bulldogs by a score of 49-43. Shelbyville scored 20 fourth quarter points and held the Lady Bulldogs to only 10.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled shooting. They hit only 14-of-56 attempts for 25-percent from the field and were 14-of-25 from the free throw line.
Shelbyville finished the game shooting 35-percent from the field and 19-of-28 from the free throw line.
Bailey Baumer led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jessica Wagers had similar numbers with eight points and nine rebounds.
The Batesville junior varsity was a 28-23 winner over the Golden Bears in the first game.
The Lady Bulldogs trailed 19-16 at the end of the third quarter. Batesville went on to outscore Shelbyville 12-4 over the final six minutes.
Samantha Heidlage led the team offensively with 10 points. Shelby Rupp turned in a solid all-around effort with six points and 10 rebounds.
