Bulldogs get road win at Lawrenceburg

BATESVILLE — The Batesville Bulldogs (10-1) kicked off a weekend of basketball with a 62-52 road victory in Lawrenceburg.

The Tigers kept the game close early and trailed 25-24 at halftime and took a lead on a field goal by Riley Lansing to open the second half.

The Bulldogs went on a 7-0 and did not trail the rest of the way.

A 3-pointer by Bryan Hoeing and a pair of two point goals by Mike Hoeing late in the third quarter led to a 46-37 lead at the stop.

The Tigers got as close as six points on two occasions in the fourth. Batesville’s largest lead over the same time period was 12 points.

Three players scored in double figures for head coach Aaron Garrett. Bryan Hoeing netted 22 points and Mike Hoeing added 15, while Wes McKinney had 13.

The Tigers were led in scoring by Jalen Obertate with 16 points and Jesse Hennies with 11.

The Batesville junior varsity suffered a tough 32-26 loss to the Tigers.
