Bulldogs take two from Tigers

BATESVILLE — Batesville High School sophomore pitcher Bryan Hoeing had plenty of run support Tuesday night at Liberty Park.

The Bulldogs defeated the visiting Lawrenceburg Tigers by a score of 9-0.

Hoeing was a big part of the team’s success. The right-hander pitched a complete game, giving up no runs on six hits, while striking out 13 batters.

Offensively, Austin Westerfeld was the only Bulldog with more than one hit as the team scattered seven. Westerfeld went 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI and one run scored. Nick Kirschner scored twice and had one hit. Other Bulldogs with hits included Will Ollier, Ben Summers, Ethan Poettker and Hoeing.
