---- — The Batesville High School junior varsity football team made short work of the Jennings County Panthers on Monday night.
The Bulldogs recorded a 38-0 victory in their first game of the season.
Batesville scored two times in the first quarter to set the tone.
Sophomore John Gerstbauer scored on a 10 yard pass play from Leo Enneking. Enneking connected with Zach Mears for the two-point conversion.
The second touchdown was a 3 yard run by Neal Nobbe.
Enneking added a touchdown run and pass in the second quarter. The 1 yard run was capped by a two-point conversion pass to Peter Heil. He later hit Evan Blanken for a 25 yard touchdown. Mears added the conversion to make it 30-0.
The final score of the game was a 51 yard interception return by Will Amberger. Gerstbauer added the last two points.
Defensively, it was Amberger, Brandon Wolter and Derek Davidson credited with outstanding efforts by coach Terry Nobbe.
