Lady Twisters blank Southwestern 5-0

BATESVILLE — The Oldenburg Academy tennis team picked up a 5-0 victory over Southwestern (Shelby) Tuesday at Batesville High School.

The Twisters made short work of the Lady Spartans and won all five matches in straight sets.

Senior Gretchen Wilder defeated Sheyenne Eversole 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles to set the tone. Sarah Wilder followed in much the same fashion with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Sandrina Perkinson at No.2.

Claire Dickey would not be out done by her teammates. Dickey defeated Alexa Schofner 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

The winning continued in doubles play. Hannah Hanauer and Ella Lamping were 6-3, 6-0 winners at No. 1, while Ivy Glaser and Anya Smith teamed up for victory at No. 2.In junior varsity play, Molly Rippe and Melinda Zitnick were singles winners.
