The Batesville High School tennis team improved to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference with victories over Madison and East Central.
Coach Mike McKinney’s squad went 4-1 over visiting Madison on Saturday morning.
Henry Luchow was challenged at No. 1 singles, but still came away with a 6-4 and 6-3 win over Kyle Sauley.
Nick Kirschner had a much easier time at No. 2. Kirschner defeated Sam McIlvain in straight sets 6-1 and 6-0.
The outsome was similar at No. 3 singles. Blake Walsman defeated Cole Callahan 6-1 and 6-3.
The No. 2 doubles team of Jacob Paul and Matt Taylor were put to a tough test by Lucas Lipps and Chris Bowman. Paul and Taylor emerged 6-4 and 7-5 winners.
Madison lone varsity win came at No. 1 doubles. Clark Vaughn and Noah Stookey beat Chris Hoseus and Dustin Nobbe 7-5 and 6-3.
In junior varsity play, Brett Westerfeld, Beau Brown and William Dong all won singles matches. Doubles winners included Ben Schwettman/Spencer Rose, Harsh Patel/Paul Ritter, Jonathan Kunkel/Brandon Laker and Justin Garcia/Luan Arnold.

The Bulldogs had little trouble with rival East Central and posted a 5-0 win in varsity action.
All five matches were decided in straight sets. Luchow, Kirschner and Walsman swept the singles competition. Hosues and Nobbe teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles, while Paul and Taylor were winners at No. 2.
The junior varsity also remained undefeated on the season.
Westerfeld, Rose, Schwettman and Arnold all won singles matches. Patel and Ritter won in doubles as did Dong and Garcia.
