The Batesville Lady Bulldogs were perfect in their quest to claim the top spot at the annual Ripley County cross country meet.
The Lady Bulldogs finished with a team score of 15 points.
Grace Yeaton crossed the finish line first for the Lady Bulldogs with a personal best time of 20:51.
Five other Batesville runners earned All-County status by placing in the top 10.
Kelsey Gausman was second overall for the Lady Bulldogs followed closely by Mary Poltrack (3rd), Sarah Poltrack, (4th), Maria Wessel (5th) and Kylie Lehman (7th). Liz Cuttle also ran in the varsity race and placed 12th.
Lauren Eckstein was the overall winner of the reserve race with a winning time of 23:33.
Besides Yeaton, seven other Lady Bulldogs ran personal times - Kylie Lehman, Katie Baumer, Heidi Shaw, Destini Taylor-Fathman, Jamie Day, Pilar Bermejo Garcia and Candice Roell.
Bulldogs race past Raiders
The Batesville boys repeated as county champions with a 22 point margin over the second place South Ripley Raiders. Jac-Cen-Del came in third with 64, while Milan did not field a complete squad.
Cole Nuhring was the third different Bulldog to lead the pack this season and was second overall in the race with a time of 18:20.
Other top 10 finishers earning All-County honors for the Bulldogs included Garrett Yorn (4th), Caleb Moster (5th), Connor Bell (6th), Alex Batta (8th)and Peter Heil (9th). Trent Barnett was just outside the Top 10 in 12th.
Calvin Lehman was the individual race winner in the reserve race in a time of 18:27.
“Another good night for our team,” BHS coach Thomas Barnett commented. “We were glad to see some faster times and now we hope to continue to improve.”
