Colts Fan Fest coming to Greensburg

Greensburg is only one of three cities that will host the free Indianapolis Colts Fan Fest in 2014. The rain-or-shine event, being held on the Decatur County Courthouse lawn, is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, from 5-7 p.m.

Other cities hosting the fan fest include Louisville, Kentucky, and Fort Wayne.

Jeff Emsweller, Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce executive director, said the chamber is proud to be able to work with an organization such as the Indianapolis Colts to help bring the NFL experience to Decatur County. “We are going to have a couple of Colts football players and several of the cheerleaders here on that day,” he said. “Former Colts punter Hunter Smith will be bringing his band and playing for the two hours that this event is going on. It is going to be a real celebration atmosphere.”

The director does not know just yet which of the Colts players will be arriving in Greensburg, but he does know they will be providing autographs and photos for those interested.

“We will have the Colts in Motion, traveling museum, Play 60 Zone, interactive inflatables, the Colts Pro Shop, registration to win free tickets to a Colts game, free giveaways and the official Colts Fan Club Membership,” according to Emsweller.

Because of the location, northbound Broadway Street will be closed and there will be no parking available on the Broadway Street side of the courthouse square during that day. Also, the short drive-through on the square’s south side between Main Street and the courthouse will also be closed then. No parking will be allowed at either of those locations so that the museum and stages can be set up for the event.

Sponsors besides the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce include the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance.
