Hoosiers and Buckeyes mingle during 5K and 10K

---- — Despite threatening clouds and a decided chill to the air, close to 100 people turned out May 17 to take part in the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site and Whitewater Canal Trail Towpath 10K Dash and 5K Fun Run and Walk.

The winners of the 10K Dash are listed by age group and then first, second and third places:

Men under 20: Lucas Zarate, Connersville; Gabriel Rankin, Metamora; Kullen Rankin, Metamora.

Men 30-39: David Merida, Connersville; Jeff Hark, Batesville; Jud McMillin, Brookville.

Men 40-49: Gordon Fox, Lawrenceburg; Brian Nobbe, Brookville; Drew Schneider, Brookville.

Men 50-59: Dan Heffernan, Cincinnati; Jeffrey Griffith, Okeana, Ohio; Herbert Jaeger, Oxford, Ohio.

Men 60-69: Jeff Siebert, Brookville; George Ginther, Metamora; Tom Crumbaker, Camden, Ohio.

Women under 20: Kylee Frey, Metamora.

Women 20-29: Amanda Wiedemann, Cincinnati.

Women 30-39: Sarah Lutz, Cincinnati; Sharon Volk, Cedar Grove; Corrine Henke, Harrison, Ohio.

Women 40-49: Stacey Nobbe, Brookville; Holly Crawford, Cincinnati; Danielle Stringfellow-Northcutt, Florence.

Women 50-59: Jenny Wiedemann, Cincinnati; Patricia Hoog, Brookville; Ellen Jaeger, Oxford, Ohio.

Women 60-69: Geri Schick, Eaton, Ohio; Shirley Kemper, Metamora.

Women: Katie Oakley, Franklin, Ohio; Amy Meyers, Laurel; Sandra Marsh, Middletown, Ohio.
