Seniors gain many athletic honors

Two types of Batesville High School Athletic Department awards were handed out during the senior awards night, according to secretary Rosemary Moton.

The Scholar-Athlete Certificate is awarded to any senior who has participated in sports all four years and maintained a 3.5 grade-point average throughout all four years.

Recipients included Trent Barnett, Bailey Baumer, Colin Brown, Emily Bryan, Tom Chaffee, Cassandra Dickey, Connor Dickey, Alyssa Dudley, Amanda Garcia, Noah Gausman, Alec Giesting, Drew Grossman and Mary Gutzwiller.

Also, Zach Hall, Brooke Hartman, Jacob Hawkins, Jarett Hooten, Sarah Hoseus, Graham Hunter, Kassidy Kase, Ben Kick, Nick Kirschner, John Krieger, Nathan Longstreth, Wes McKinney and Dustin Nobbe.

Also, Madison Oesterling, Chelsey Paul, Jacob Paul, Cody Reer, Ally Ritter, Rebecca Roell, Brooke Rohlfing, Deepan Saravanan, Matt Weiler, Beth Werner, Austin Westerfeld, Ben Wilson and Ryan Wilson.

The Framed B Award is presented to a student who earned at least two varsity letters and must have defended the letter each year in that sport after receiving the first one and must be in good standing as defined in the Batesville High School Athletic Code.

Honorees are Caleb Abshear: football, two Varsity Letters, and baseball, one Varsity Letter; Trent Barnett: cross country, three Varsity Letters, and track, four Varsity Letters; Justin Batchelor: football, two Varsity Letters; Bailey Baumer: volleyball, four Varsity Letters, and basketball, four Varsity Letters; Monica Bedel: volleyball, one Varsity Letter, and track, two Varsity Letters; Colin Brown: football, three Varsity Letters; Emily Bryan: cheerleading, two Varsity Letters, and softball, three Varsity Letters; Drew Burton: football, two Varsity Letters; Tom Chaffee: football, three Varsity Letters, and track, two Varsity Letters; Jagger Cozart: football, three Varsity Letters.
