The Batesville High School tennis team improved to 4-0 in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference with victories over Rushville and Greensburg.
The Lady Bulldogs went back and forth with Greensburg, but emerged triuphant by a score of 3-2.
Lydia Olsen gave the Lady Bulldogs their first point with a victory at No. 2 singles. Olsen defeated Olivia Slusher 6-2, 6-4.
Ally Ritter was not far behind with a victory at No. 3 singles. Ritter knocked off Tiffany Springmeyer 6-3, 6-3.
The deciding match was No. 2 doubles. Macy Simon and Karsen Worthington needed three sets to beat Courtney Nelson and Abigail Bailey 6-4, 4-6 and 6-1.
Greensburg picked up its first win of the match at No. 1 doubles. Caroline Pratt and Claire Welage defeated Kelli Hartman and Brooke Bradford 7-5, 6-4.
The match of the night was a three set battle at No. 1 singles between Batesville senior Sarah Hoseus and Greensburg’s Danielle Schroeder. Hoseus won the first set 6-3, but lost the second in a tie-breaker. Schroeder went on to win the third by a score of 6-1.
Batesville was victorious in the junior varsity match by a score of 4-1.
Winning singles matches for the Lady Bulldogs were Erin Longstreth, Gabby Cooper and Alana Pinckley. Jenna Harmeyer and Grace Heppner were winners at No. 2 doubles.
One night earlier, the Lady Bulldogs blanked the Lady Lions by a score of 5-0.
Hoseus was a winner at No. 1 singles, while Olsen and Ritter followed at No.2 and 3, respectively.
Hartman and Bradford defeated Jill Yager and Casey Yager 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles. Worthington and Simon won in a third set super tie-breaker at No. 2.
The junior varsity was victorious as well.
Julia Hunter, Anna Kick and Pinckley won singles matches for the Lady Bulldogs. Heppner and Cooper teamed up for a doubles win as did Harmeyer and Hunter.
