The Oldenburg Academy boys varsity baseball team finished runner-up at the Union County Invitational.
The Twisters defeated South Dearborn by a score of 4-3 in the opening round, but lost to the host Patriots in the title game 11-8.
Coach Doug Behlmer’s crew had eight hits in the come-from-behind victory over the Knights. Oldenburg scored all four runs in the seventh inning.
Nick Bischoff, Corey Schuman, Sam Gast, Matty Hurm, Tyler Hesselbrock and Bryce Ahaus each had one hit.
Tyler Hogg pitched the final inning in relief to record the victory.
The OA runs came over the first three innings in game two.
Offensively, the Twisters were led by Bischoff, Hogg and Tanner Alley with two hits apiece.
OA beats Greenwood Christian
The Twisters were 6-1 winners over Greenwood Christian at Liberty Park.
Oldenburg scattered six hits over six innings and scored in each of the first four innings. The big innings was the fourth when they scored three.
Bischoff, Shuman, Alley, Hesselbrock, Josh Kinker and Drew Kloepfer had one hit apiece. Bischoff and Kinker each scored twice.
Schuman got the start on the mound and went the distance. He gave up one unearned run and struck out six batters.
The Twisters are now 3-3 on the season.
