Bulldogs use long ball in victory

BATESVILLE — A pair of home runs helped propel the Batesville High School varsity baseball team to a 6-4 victory at South Dearborn.

Wes McKinney hit a grand slam in the second inning and Bryan Hoeing added a two-run blast in the fifth to account for the teams six runs.

Ben Summers was the only Bulldog with more than one hit. The BHS senior went 2-for-3 at the place. Connor Schuck, Cody Haakinson, Noah Gausman, Austin Westerfeld and Nick Kirschner each had one hit.

Hoeing got the start on the mound and pitched all seven innings. He gave up only three hits and struck out five.
