The Batesville American Legion Post 271 baseball team suffered a 12-3 loss to St. Leon on Tuesday.
Batesville took an early lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. They held a 3-1 lead entering the fourth inning.
St. Leon broke the game open with seven runs on the bottom of the fourth. St. Leon added two more runs in the sixth and eighth innings to preserve the victory.
Corey Reynolds and Logan Linkmeyer each had a pair of hits to lead Post 271 at the plate. Leo Enneking, Taylor Kopplin and Jon Drew each had one hit.
Niehoff and Wagner led St. Leon at the plate with three hits apiece.
Post 271 will be busy preparing for the upcoming sectional tournament.
Batesville traveled to Brookville on Thursday and will return home for a doubleheader on Sunday against Seymour.
The final regular season game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, at Richmond. Tournament play begins on July 19 in St. Leon.
