---- — A good season came to a close for the Batesville High School girls soccer team.
The Lady Bulldogs were defeated 4-0 by East Central in the first round of the Class 2A sectional held at Batesville Tuesday evening.
After a scoreless first half, the Lady Trojans scored four times in the second. Senior Melody Lutz led her team with three goals, while Daria Volker added one. Senior Hannah Patton had an assist on one of the three Lutz scores.
“We played the best half of soccer all season and held EC in check most of the game,” BHS coach Kyle Laker commented.
The Lady Trojans improved to 14-1-2 on the season, while Batesville finished 10-5-2.
